Accord launches 85% range

Accord has launched a range of new mortgage products, offering 80% and 85% LTVs.

The products include a two-year fixed rate at 5.79% up to 85% LTV, and a 5.,29% fixed rate at 85% LTV and a £1,995 fee.

It is also offering a 2.39%, two-year Bank of England tracker with a £1,995 fee up to 65% LTV and a 3.89%, two-year fixed with no fee at 65% LTV.

Iain Smith, sales director at Accord, says: “There are definitely signs of the market improving and so to help kick start 2010 we thought this would be the ideal time to launch an extensive range of competitive, tailored products to support our lending partners and their intermediaries.

:We’re confident that we are offering our partners some of the best deals currently available in the market with products available up to 85% LTV.”

  • Welcome news for many borrowers as 85% LTV returns with more lenders - but criteria is as tight as ever.

The article also fails to point out, 85% LTV deals are exclusives via Sesame appointed advisers and semi exclusive.

The lenders are making a tidy profit on these rates - these profit margins on mortgages are at their highest rate ever and more lenders will follow suit.

  • Accord used to have BDM's but I have not seen anyone for quite a while. Do they still have a field based sales force?

  • Does any lender have a field based sales force? As a BDM made redundant I would welcome an opportunity to get back out there!

  • I work for one of the main highstreet lenders as a field based BDM - this is fantastic news, the more competition for business the more innovative we have to become with our products to get our market share. I hope more competition comes on board this year!

  • The deals are not purely exclusive to only Sesame or PMS as suggested. Accord have made the range available to 9(ish) 'intermediary partners' as is their usual practice.
