Snow forces closure of Abbey processing site

An Abbey processing site in Southampton has been closed because of adverse weather conditions, with a further site in Redhill also reduced to limited staff.

All other Abbey sites are operating as normal, and regular emails have been sent to brokers updating them on the situation.

Updates are also being posted on the Abbey for Intermediaries website.

An email was sent to brokers yesterday warning that some offices may experience difficulties as a result of the snow.

A spokesman for Abbey says: “In the interest of working closely with intermediaries we have been keeping everyone alert to the operational status of our business sites across the country.

“At present some of our sites have been affected by the adverse weather conditions, however despite this, we continue to operate a business as usual policy with no pipeline business or customers being affected.”

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning that more heavy snow will fall later today in London and the South-East, the South-West, and the East of England.
