Lloyds group pledges not to cut branch numbers for three years

Lloyds Banking Group has pledged to keep the same number of branches in its total network for the next three years.

It has also committed to not close a branch if it is the last one in a community.

Antonio Horta-Osorio, chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group, says: “We want to put the customer at the heart of everything we do and it is why last year we put a freeze on branch closures.

“Today we commit to keeping the same number of branches on a net basis, over the next three years.”

He adds: “Branches are at the heart of how we serve customers and are at the centre of our communities. The branch network will continue to play a vital part in our future plans.”
