Platform relocates service divisions

Platform Home Loans is relocating its pre-completion and customer care divisions to two different processing centres operated by parent group Co-operative Financial Services, which could result in 80 staff being made redundant.

Its pre-completion service will be moved to CFS’ mortgage processing centre in Leek and Platform’s customer care service will be relocated to CFS’ service centre in Stockport.

All 80 staff will be given the opportunity to relocate, but if they don’t want to it could result in some redundancies

The firm says that by doing this it will have access to additional people with skills and experience in mortgage processing and customer service, so that it can continue to grow its broker mortgage business and deliver a consistent service even during peaks in volume.

The rest of Platform’s operations will continue to be based in its Canary Wharf HQ in London.

A Platform spokesman says: “We will maintain core teams at these new locations that just focus on intermediary business. The changes will be phased to protect service levels and we’ll be putting a lot of emphasis on training to ensure that these teams are equipped to deal with intermediary business. Our systems, including Click, and our service standards and BRM contacts will remain unchanged.”

He adds: “The exact dates of these changes are still to be confirmed but we will keep our customers fully informed as our plans develop.”

  • Believe me there are concrete plans to close the canary wharf office and to replace the Click Systems. We just do not have a firm date for this yet.

The rest of Platform staff will mostly disappear over the next year - 18 months to be replaced by Leek & Stockport
