Martin Gilsenan joins Omni Capital after two month wait

After more than a two month wait Martin Gilsenan, formerly relationship manager at Dragonfly, has finally joined short-term lender Omni Capital as its new director of sales.

In September it was revealed that Gilsenan had been suspended by Dragonfly amid rumours that he was looking to move to Omni Capital.

Omni Capital confirmed that it was looking to make a senior sales appointment but at the time there were no further details.

Today it was finally announced that he has been able to join the company

Colin Sanders, chief executive officer of Omni Capital, says: “Martin Gilsenan is a hugely popular and respected individual. His work ethic and professionalism follows wherever he goes. Anybody who knows Martin knows his integrity is beyond challenge. This is borne out by the quiet words of support we have received from so many in the industry.

“When I invited Martin to join Omni Capital, I realised I was leaving him with a difficult choice. Loyalty has always featured high on his personal agenda but never more so than since the sobering events of the past few years.

“His honourably-made decision to join us is, I believe, a signal moment for Omni Capital. Individuals of his calibre are not easy to come by and are jealously guarded. But I’m sincerely flattered by his faith in Omni and our expansive intermediary-focused plans for the future.”

Gilsenan takes up his new post on December 12 2011 and will be responsible for leading and developing the lender’s sales programme.

Prior to joining Dragonfly Gilsenan held down senior roles in Mortgage Trust, iGroup and GE Money Home Lending and Money Partners, as well as a stint running his own brokerage business.
