Katie Tucker opts to leave industry for a teacher's life

Katie Tucker, chief operating office at Private Finance, is quitting the mortgage industry to become a teacher.
Tucker joined Private Finance in March, having worked as head of communications at Mortgageforce since September 2008. Prior to this she worked as a technical manager at John Charcol from 2002 to 2008.
Tucker recently completed a City & Guilds course in art and design and says it made her decide to change direction and pursue a more artistic career.
She says it will be a relief to leave the mortgage industry and be able to observe the market as a consumer rather than a commentator.
Tucker will leave Private Finance at the end of the month.
