Housing completions up 6% in 2011

The number of housing completions in England rose by 6% between 2011 and 2010, according to data published by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

There were 109,000 completions over the course of 2011, 6% more than the previous year.

The number of housing starts, however, fell by 4% between 2010 and 2011 to 98,250.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of completions rose by 2% between Q3 2011 and Q4 2011, from 26,180 to 26,730.

Meanwhile the number of housing starts climbed by 6% to 25,240 over the same period.
