DIGGING THE DIRT IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD…

PEP TALK After England’s first two games in the World Cup, like every other England fan Mole couldn’t help but feel frustrated.

A fumbling performance against the US and one that could only be described as dire against Algeria left most fans feeling like giving the team a piece of their mind. But one fan from London actually got the chance to do so.

After apparently accidentally wandering into the England dressing room on the way to the toilet Pavlos Joseph told an injured David Beckham the team was a disgrace. Already proud of the outspoken fan, Mole was even more impressed when he discovered that Joseph was a mortgage broker.

Intermediaries have never been afraid to speak their mind and it seems this applies to football as well as our industry. Joseph is currently awaiting his fate as his trial was adjourned until Wednesday.

TV TARGET Joseph’s dressing room tirade inevitably got him a mention on television show Mock the Week. First, comedian Andy Parsons suggested Joseph shouldn’t call anyone a disgrace considering he is a Manchester United fan and a mortgage broker.

Then another panellist highlighted the disparity between brokers and bankers, even in the world of football.

With the New Zealand team containing several part-time players including Andy Barron, a banker by trade, the comedian quipped that “a
broker breaks into a dressing room and they send him to court, a banker does it and they let him play”.
