The Mortgage Mole

DIGGING THE DIRT IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD…

PUBLIC AFFAIRS Mole is inquisitive by nature and loves a bit of gossip. So he was jealous to hear of one industry PR’s recent sleepless night at a low-budget hotel. She was staying in London overnight after a business meeting but was treated to something of a soap opera in the room next door.

Apparently, the couple staying there were having an almighty row over the possibility that he had had an affair with her best friend. The walls of the room were so thin she could hear the whole charade being played out.

“It was quite a to do,” the sleepy-eyed PR told Mole. “I didn’t want to pry into anyone’s business but it was impossible not to. My loyalties switched between lying with the betrayed wife who was clearly heartbroken and the neglected hubby who had felt ignored in the relationship. I was almost tempted to knock on their door next day to see if they had worked things out.”

Mole is off to buy some popcorn and Red Bull before checking into the same hotel in the hope of a repeat production.

ON YER BIKES Mole would like to wish good luck to PR guru Richard Hurst who, along with fellow Charlbury Group directors Paul Duckworth and David Ford, will be attempting to complete a challenging 250-mile bike ride in the name of charity.

The Wessex Way is the longest off-road coast-to-coast ride in England and all money raised on the ride will go to the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.

Shooting Star provides care, support and advice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. These services are offered free of charge to families, 365 days a year. The hospice opened in 2005 and supports 250 families.
