Calling any lawyers who can get justice for home inspectors
I am a qualified home inspector who paid a lot of money to train - money I had to borrow.
I feel conned but am also sick of reading negative blogs by people who have no sympathy for those who retrained to become home inspectors. These writers have no idea of the extensive training involved and seem to imply that inspectors deserve what has happened to them.
They might think the qualification is not of a high standard but I have a degree in geography as well as this qualification and I can assure you that home inspectors are well qualified to assess buildings.
We deserve compensation and I’d love to hear from anyone in the legal profession who can help us.

What does Geography have to do with home inspection? How long did your extensive training take? I too am an inspector and trained for close to 2 years. I know what I am doing and take the time to do it right. Most in this industry do not and couldn't even if they tried. Yes we need higher standards. The public deserves and need higher standards, not some inspector trying to lawyer up!

I think you are being a bit harsh on the person who wrote this letter. I think the point they are trying to make is the comparison of the study needed to be a HIP inspector with the study needed to undertake a degree course.
It is even more understandable if they have run up debts to study for a degree and then been persuaded to run up further debts to study to be a HIP inspector.
A lot of people have spent money on training to be a HIP inspector, which most of the people in financial services and estate agency are glad to see the back of without much sympathy for this group of people – on a positive note for them EPCs are still needed and whilst will generate less income it is still an option.
