Award recognises a true gentleman of the mortgage world

At the recent Mortgage Strategy Awards ceremony I was delighted to see David Shortt given a lifetime achievement award.
Many readers will know Shortt and no doubt have a fondness for this gentleman of the industry. To any young professional in the mortgage market, he should be an inspiration as someone who does business in the right way.
Shortt works in an old-fashioned manner, meeting folk face-to-face, and has an uncanny ability to recall names and faces. This skill is important as he seems to know everyone in the market.
At industry events I’m always amazed at the number of people who know him, while outside the industry he is popular too.
In the modern world it’s easy to fall into the trap of hiding behind emails and websites but Shortt is a prime example of why personal contact will always be the best way to do business.
This award was given to the right person.
