TLT makes new appointments to mortgage litigation team
National law firm TLT is strengthening its mortgage litigation practice with the hiring of partners Gavin Dowell and Paul Heeley from specialist mortgage litigation practice Glenisters.
With their niche expertise in complex litigation work, these appointments increase to five the number of partners dedicated to mortgage litigation.
Dowell has 18 years’ experience in complex property and lending-related litigation and significant trial and resolution experience.
He is also an authority on mortgage litigation advocacy with ten years’ experience of handling contested possession hearings and appeals for lenders.
Heeley is a common law lawyer with 18 years’ experience in civil litigation and property matters. He began his career in professional negligence and property litigation and has since managed a number of high profile possession and commercial litigation cases.
Their move to TLT’s Bristol office will mean the transfer to TLT of Glenisters’ client work. Glenisters has a turnover of approx £1.5m and employs 21 staff.
Richard Waller, head of financial services at TLT, says: “These appointments support TLT’s reputation as a leading provider of legal services to the banking sector. Gavin and Paul have extensive experience in the mortgage lending market and will enable us to deliver greater partner-level support to our mortgage litigation clients.”
TLT advises most of the UK’s largest banking institutions and an increasing number of international banks including Barclays Bank, Bank of Ireland and National Australia Bank. Over 40% of TLT’s income is from the Financial Services sector.
