PTFS’s John Ruddick appointed head of IFA

Personal Touch Financial Services has made chief operations officer John Ruddick, head of IFA.

It has also appointed Tenet’s former client development manager, Simon Hewitt, to the newly created position of IFA operations manager.

PTFS says the changes have been made in advance of the Retail Distribution Review.

Over the coming months Hewitt will work closely with Ruddick and the network’s provider and adviser communities to evolve PTFS’s IFA proposition. In particular, he will project manage a range of IT developments aimed at improving functionality, transparency and efficiency.

Hewitt’s appointment comes as PTFS gears up to announce an approved platform panel comprising many of the major players in the IFA market. The network is currently undertaking due diligence and producing detailed guidance on the use of platforms, and aims to release details of its panel in early November.

John Ruddick, head of IFA at PTFS, says: “Over recent months, we have undertaken detailed consultation with our IFA members to explore in detail their evolving requirements in the run-up to the RDR. The feedback that we have gathered during this process has been crucial in developing our IFA proposition to best support their needs.

“As we finalise the details of our approved panel, we are delighted to announce Simon Hewitt’s arrival at PTFS. With in-depth knowledge gained during many years in the network space, his appointment is the first in a series of planned additions to our IFA team and marks our commitment to developing a market-leading IFA proposition.

“We look forward to outlining a series of further developments over the coming weeks and months in the areas of IT, platforms, advice and training.”

PTFS’s IFA membership has increased by 11 per cent over the last 18 months and now comprises 254 advisers within 157 individual firms.
