Expo exhibitors wasted chance to boost relations
Exhibitors at the Mortgage Business Expo did not take full advantage of the event by engaging with visitors, industry consultants say.
Francis Mogg and Jeff Knight analysed exhibitors at the recent expo in London on features such as attractiveness of stands, location, staff appearance and how they engaged with visitors.
Mogg says: “Based on a wide range of criteria, we undertook an objective evaluation of every exhibitor at different times during the two days. Some performed much better than others, but several failed to maximise opportunities.”
According to Mogg and Knight too many exhibitors were intent on pushing their own agenda rather than listening, while others missed obvious opportunities to engage.
Mogg adds: “This is a serious issue as it is vital to encourage dialogue and understanding between participants in the intermediary mortgage market.”
Stands that scored highly in the analysis were Nationwide, The Mortgage Works, Shawbrook Bank and Borro.
