Lloyds names mortgage sales bosses

Lloyds Banking Group has retained Ian Wilson, head of sales at Halifax Intermediaries, Phil Rickards, head of sales at BM Solutions and head of national accounts Maria Harris, after asking them to reapply for their jobs.

Kevin Purvey, head of sales at Cheltenham &Gloucester and Scottish Widows Bank has not kept his role.

Lloyds group asked its three mortgage heads of sales and head of national accounts to reapply for their jobs as part of its streamlining of the business.

The lender announced in March that it was scrapping its Cheltenham & Gloucester brand through brokers.

As a result it will now only operate a BM Solutions and Halifax sales team and Halifax will also look after the Scottish Widows brand.

Mike Jones, sales director for mortgages at Lloyds, says: “This is an important step in building our intermediary team for the future, and I look forward to working with Maria, Phil and Ian. I would also like to thank Kevin for his valuable contribution to the intermediary business over the years.”

  • It is sad to learn that Kevin Purvey has not been retained by Lloyds , in the time that i knew him as a BDM and before his promotions, I found him to be an excellent representative for his employer , always being proactive in his relationships with key brokerage accounts.
i do hope that he finds suitable employment with another lender.

  • Kevin is a top bloke and an accomplished intermediary sales professional. I wish home well and would confident he'll be back in the saddle with another lender soon.

  • A very quick decision by Lloyds which as usual suits themselves (ie Halifax)rather than taking a bit of time and seeking their customers (intermediaries)advices .They have missed an opportunity for a refreshing change in their leadership .

I presume your an intermediary yourself, Correct?

What has Lloyds Internal decision making on their sales managers got to do with you anyway? Do you get your clients to pick who runs your business?

Do you want a say on what suits they wear aswell?
