Gerry O’Brien leaves First Complete
Gerry O’Brien, chief executive of First Complete, has left the network.

Jon Round, group financial services director at LSL Property Services, says it has mutually agreed to part company with O’Brien with immediate effect.
Round will take on the additional role of chief executive of the First Complete network.
Round says: “Having spent the last few weeks finalising the integration of Home of Choice into First Complete, we have mutually agreed to part company with O’Brien.
“I would like to thank him for all his help in bringing the business to this point and his hard work in helping to secure the future of the business and the future for all of First Complete’s appointed representatives. We wish him every success in his future career.”
LSL Property Services bought Home of Choice for £1.5m in May.
On Monday Mortgage Strategy revealed that John Ahmed has quit his job as commercial director at First Complete.

I can't say I know Gerry personally but I have always found him to be a pretty nice bloke. I wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do in the future and thanks for all the help in securing a new deal for Home of Choice.

Despite the commercial issues (which have dogged companies all over the world and not just HOC), Gerry- along with Richard and their whole team- made Home of Choice what was widely regarded in the idustry as the best specialist mortgage network in the UK in terms of how it treated its brokers and the support it gave re: workshops etc. I remember Gerry phoning me in Autumn 2005 and meeting me the next day at Manchester airport to discuss the proposition of the "new" type of network. He was off to another part of the UK to have simaler discussions with other brokers. He should have been exhausted but instead he was bursting with excitment as he knew they were staring to build something significant. Every fibre of the man is just pure motivation and you simply can't fault that. I can't speak about his pre-home of choice years but I know that he and Richard spread that motivation throughout the whole Network- which I guess is why LSL considered it healthy enough to buy it, and no the the other commercially failing networks. I know it won't really make any difference to the way we AR's go about the everyday running of our businesses and I know that LSL are brimming with talented people to guide the business forward- but I can't help but feel we've lost a bit of the soul of the network today. Anyway, enough of my Ramblings- back to work! Good luck Gerry- you'll be missed by me anyway.
