Ex-John Charcol adviser launches brokerage
Vince Sammon, a former consultant at John Charcol has launched a new mortgage brokerage, Sammon Mortgage Management.
Sammon Mortgage Management is directly authorised and offers whole of market mortgage and protection advice.
Sammon, managing director of the new brokerage says starting a new venture after such a turbulent time in the financial industry could be considered high risk, but he feels the timing is ideal and the outlook for brokers is bright.
He says although criteria remains strict, particularly for those clients with little equity or a small deposit, 2010 has seen increased mortgage activity, availability of higher LTV’s and also slightly lower rates, all signs of an improving market.
Vince, says: “More and more lenders are coming back into the market which means better terms for clients as competition increases, this also provides brokers with a greater range of options for their clients.
“Brokers continue to contribute a huge percentage of overall lending and in a market where criteria is tight, mortgage brokers are relied upon more than ever to find not just the best rate but also the right lender.”

Wishing Vince all the best with his new venture.
I hope too that his firm represents the best interests of the clients by recommending 'direct to lender' rates rather than only recommending rates that remunerate the adviser.

Good Luck fellow broker, fortune favours the bold - but in the current environment, with another recession coming and mortgage approvals at 10yr lows, dual pricing, and RDR coming in - we are shutting up shop soon - one less firm for competition from us!
In my view - not a good idea in the current climate but wishing you the best anyhow.

Whilst I wish Vince all the best in his new venture, I just wonder whether I would have got this much publicity when I left a small thriving brokerage 7 years ago to launch my new business...just a thought!!

Well done Vince. I launched a mortgage brokerage in September 2003 and received no such acclamation from mortgage strategy. Fenton Simpson Financial Services Ltd are still open and ready for business.

Best of luck to Vince, just the fact that he has bothered launching publicly and getting his name out there like this bodes well - proactive attitude and marketing.
