The Cambridge, with assets of £900m, is the latest lender to join the network.

In June this year, the Society recorded its busiest month for mortgage loans for the last six years and is keen to stress it has capital to lend.

Mark Smitheringale, head of sales and marketing at Cambridge, says: “We’re delighted to have completed this partnership with Legal & General. Its reputation in the financial services industry is second to none and its Mortgage Club is one of the biggest in the UK mortgage market.

“The Cambridge’s products have been available to brokers for some time now; however, joining with partners like the Legal & General Mortgage Club – as well as the recent developments we’ve made to our product range – further reinforces our commitment to the intermediary sector.”

Martyn Smith, head of mortgage products at Legal & General Mortgage Club, adds: “The addition of the Cambridge Building Society to our Mortgage Club gives our members access to an established and well respected player in the mortgage market.

“The Cambridge has a strong history, an excellent product range and a proven track record in customer service and support.”
