Cupis and Malone take top PMS jobs in Sesame Bankhall revamp

John Cupis has been made managing director of PMS, with John Malone becoming chairman.

The appointments are part of an internal restructure at the newly-merged Sesame Bankhall Group.

Cupis will continue in his role of managing director of mortgage and general insurance at Sesame as well as taking on the PMS role.
Malone was previously managing director of PMS.

Other changes include David Golder being promoted from his position as managing director of IFA services at Bankhall to overall managing director of Bankhall.

Meanwhile, Nick Kelly, previously managing director of networks and director at Sesame, becomes overall managing director of Sesame.

Sesame completed the acquisition of Bankhall and PMS last month, creating a financial services group that will serve more than 10,000 advisers,

Stephen Young, chief operating officer at Sesame Bankhall Group, will chair the operating boards of Sesame and Bankhall.

Young says: “I am delighted that Malone has agreed to become chair-man of the PMS operating board. In this position he will be able to give us the benefit of his wide experience in the mortgage market.”

The industry has also welcomed the news that Malone and Cupis are joining forces.

Nigel Stockton, sales director of mortgages at Lloyds Banking Group, says: “This is an excellent move, with two industry stalwarts involved in the growth of PMS.”

And Kevin Duffy, managing director of Mortgageforce, says: “With both men being such massive Spurs fans the Cupis-Malone partnership represents the industry’s most formidable brains trust.

“But I am concerned that given their north London allegiances, PMS and Bankhall members may have to suffer the music of celebrity Spurs fans Chas and Dave at all roadshows.”
