Cold calls

It’s no secret that brokers are a little peeved with the Financial Services Authority. Many regularly use Mortgage Strategy’s letters pages to vent their frustration about the regulator but it seems some are taking a more forthright approach.
A source at the FSA has revealed that on Friday afternoons when brokers finish early and head to the pub to unwind some decide to let off steam and call the FSA to complain.
“It’s common for brokers to call us on Friday afternoons when they’re a bit tipsy and tell us what they think of us,” says the source.
Since Mortgage Strategy is a wholesome, family magazine Mole can’t reveal what one broker called the regulator before hanging up but here’s a hint - it’s not bankers.
