Chris Cummings steps down from trade body roles

Chris Cummings, director-general of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers and the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, announced his resignation last week.

Cummings will take up a new role as chief executive of TheCityUK, a body set up to promote the financial services industry.

Cummings says that mortgage brokers have had a strong and respected voice in Westminster and Brussels since the launch of AMI.

He says: “I am immensely proud of the work that AIFA, AMI and the Association of Finance Brokers do. We have fought hard to ensure members get a fair deal from regulators and policy makers.

“The success we have had shows what can be achieved when the intermediary profession speaks with a united voice.”
