UK GDP fall less severe than thought

The UK’s contracted by 0.7% between April and June, slightly less than the previous estimate of 0.8%.
This means that the actual level of GDP is 5.5% lower than the same time last year.
Construction output is estimated to have fallen by 2.2% while household spending fell by 0.7%.
The level of UK’s output has been revised up thanks to revisions in the production and manufacturing industries.
