Black Horse will continue running
Lloyds Banking Group says its Black Horse brand will continue despite 58 of its UK offices being set to close.
The bank announced last week that it will conduct all Black Horse business through its customer lending centre in Cardiff, resulting in 455 job losses.
Lloyds also plans to shed a further 130 administration jobs in its retail lending arm.
Black Horse offers secured and unsecured loans, plus motor finance.
A Lloyds spokesman says: “The business is very much still here. We still plan to offer and develop the products and there has been no change to our lending targets.”
Rob MacGregor, a national officer at union Unite says: “Unite is warning Lloyds not to repeat its approach in 2009 where staff faced death by a thousand cuts as weekly announcements of job losses were made.”
