Bad brokers set to face wrath of FSA

Also, I foresee the Financial Services Authority targeting bad brokers and taking action against them this year so the good brokers who make up most of the market can continue to offer great service.

And I’d like to see all those in the mortgage sector appreciate the attributes of the UK market and thank our lucky stars we are not operating in the US. But that does not mean we don’t have to keep developing our propositions in the new financial world being thrust upon us.

On a personal note, one of my new year resolutions is to do more to help those less fortunate than myself. I am always reminded at charity functions how lucky we are compared with some and that we can always do more to help.

I will certainly try to be more thoughtful than the British diplomat I once heard on the radio.
I was listening to a programme a couple of years ago in which some diplomats were asked what they wanted for Christmas.

The American wished for an end to fighting in the Middle East, the Frenchman wished for an end to famine in Africa and the Swiss a cure for AIDS. The British diplomat wanted some jelly fruits covered in sugar. Enough said.

Finally - and this may come as a shock to some as I am a Scot - I want England to get to the final of the World Cup. But you’ll notice I only said to the final.

  • Please don't call the bandits brokers, that term was once legally protected.

As for the FSA getting jiggy with it...don't hold your breath.
