Wimbledon is over for another year, with our hopes for a British men’s title dashed despite Andy Murray’s best efforts.

Murray has changed coaches a few times and this year I thought he looked a different player. He has a lot of experience to draw on and seems able to adapt his technique to challenge his different opponents.

Experience in our chosen field should give us an advantage when we meet challenges, be they market or individual client difficulties. They let us apply our knowledge and determine what action to take.

I am lucky that my role enables me to meet exceptional individuals in the business. Those who impress me the most know every aspect of their business intimately. The management information they have at their fingertips allows them to understand what is going on in their business at any given time.

This information also includes details of potential business opportunities over the coming months as well as new business in the pipeline. When markets change they can ensure they maximise the best opportunities by being able to identify relevant clients in seconds and start working with them.

Your client relationship management should be able to join up all areas of your business, enabling you to identify what future business opportunities you have and whether you have the tools to deal with them.

Being able to identify the peaks and troughs of future business opportunities allows you to apply your experience to how best this can be managed without losing valuable clients or business.
