It’s no secret that the UK has a housing shortage. Earlier this year, the Institute for Public Policy Research estimated that England alone would face a shortfall of 750,000 homes by 2025. Rising birth rates, divorce, greater life expectancy and immigration have all contributed to higher demand for houses, and not least in the area of affordable housing.
